My journey in purebred dogs began in 2000 when my husband surprised me with a Shetland Sheepdog puppy. What started as obedience training quickly developed into a passion for exhibiting and breeding, and before long I became actively involved with the Shetland Sheepdog Club of NSW under my CHERALAY prefix.
Through my involvement in the show ring, I met Barbara Ludowici of FERGWYN Welsh Corgis and began assisting her with her Pembrokes. Over time, the breed completely captured my heart and, as my focus shifted from Shelties to Corgis, I was honoured to become joint owner of the historic FERGWYN prefix. Established in 1954, FERGWYN is one of Australia’s longest-established Pembroke Welsh Corgi kennels, renowned for producing dogs of outstanding type and temperament from quality imported bloodlines.
Today, I am proud to continue the FERGWYN legacy, breeding and exhibiting Pembroke Welsh Corgis with an emphasis on sound temperament, correct breed type and quality. My show team includes both natural bobtail and tailed Pembrokes, and I remain committed to preserving the values and traditions that have made the FERGWYN prefix so highly respected for more than seventy years.
As a Committee member of the Welsh Corgi Club of NSW, I enjoy supporting fellow exhibitors, welcoming newcomers to the breed, and helping to promote the responsible breeding, exhibition and preservation of the Pembroke Welsh Corgi for future generations.
