Cardigan & Pembroke Corgis of Distinction & Influence

Welsh Corgi Club NSW Hall of Fame

Our Hall of Fame celebrates Cardigan and Pembroke Welsh Corgis who have excelled in the show ring and in performance sports — dogs whose quality, temperament and lasting influence have helped shape the breed. Here we honour outstanding sires, dams, and competitors: those who have achieved conformation success, produced remarkable offspring, or otherwise set a standard for others to follow.

Included among these aspirational dogs are recipients of Dogs Australia’s Sire of Merit (SOM) and Dam of Merit (DOM) titles — awards that recognise long-term breeding excellence and the ability to produce multiple conformation champions.

Understanding the Sire and Dam of Merit Titles

  • 🏆

    Sire of Merit (SOM)

A male that has sired at least 10 Conformation Champion offspring

  • 🏆

    Dam of Merit (DOM)

A female that has produced at least 5 Conformation Champion offspring

Dogs Australia introduced these formal awards effective 1 January 2025. The SOM and DOM titles recognise breeding dogs that have consistently passed on exceptional type, temperament, and soundness to their offspring.

These awards serve as benchmarks for breeders, handlers, and enthusiasts — celebrating corgis whose quality and influence continue to shape future generations. The Hall of Fame will expand as more outstanding dogs achieve remarkable milestones.
