The Welsh Corgi Club of NSW proudly held its 142nd Championship Show on Sunday, 11 October 2026, at the DOGS NSW grounds at Orchard Hills.
We welcomed an excellent entry of 19 Cardigan Welsh Corgis and 50 Pembroke Welsh Corgis, with exhibitors coming together for another wonderful celebration of our two breeds.
We were delighted to welcome back respected Corgi specialist Mr Simon Parsons (UK) to judge our show. Simon has a long association with both Cardigan and Pembroke Welsh Corgis and this was his third appointment judging for the Welsh Corgi Club of NSW.
Our sincere thanks go to all of our exhibitors for supporting the Club, to the committee and volunteers who worked hard to make the day possible, and to the many individuals, kennels and businesses whose generous sponsorship contributed to the show.
Our Championship Shows are about more than the results in the ring. They are an opportunity to celebrate our Cardigans and Pembrokes, catch up with friends, welcome new exhibitors and enjoy a day surrounded by people who share a love for Welsh Corgis.
Simon Parsons’ involvement with Welsh Corgis began in 1965, when his family welcomed their first Pembroke, Binkie, from Doris Mason (Revelmere). Originally intended simply as a family pet, Binkie ultimately led the family into breeding and showing and began Simon’s lifelong involvement with Corgis.
His mother, Margo, later established a small breeding programme which continued for some 30 years and ultimately produced the homebred UK Champion Deavitte Treacle Parkin.
Cardigans also became an important part of the family’s Corgi life. Their first was a blue merle from Pat Curties (Lees), who later produced Ch Deavitte Moonbeam, the top Cardigan of her year. Simon subsequently joined Sarah Taylor (Bymil), Diana King and Gerald King (Bimwich) to establish the Oregonians, based on two imports from Liz Sessions in the USA.
Simon first judged in 1976 and awarded Challenge Certificates for the first time ten years later. He has since judged Welsh Corgis and other breeds internationally, including the Australian Corgi National in Hobart in 1998.
We were delighted to welcome Simon back to Australia and to the Welsh Corgi Club of NSW for his third judging appointment with our Club.

It was a truly wonderful day of connecting and making memories.
The grounds at DOGS NSW were looking their very best beneath a cloud-painted blue sky, providing a beautiful setting for our 142nd Championship Show.
The rosettes and ribbons we were able to provide through the generosity of our sponsors looked magnificent, with their gold foiling shining in the sunlight and satin ribbons pressed and gleaming. Our industry-sponsored prize table was groaning under the weight of prizes, while flags and bunting waved gently in the breeze.
More than the awards, though, it was a day to enjoy our Welsh Corgis, catch up with old friends, welcome new faces and share the camaraderie that makes a Specialty Show so special.
A beautiful day, wonderful dogs and plenty of memories made.

A very special addition to our 142nd Championship Show was the presentation of two beautiful bespoke Best of Breed rosettes, generously donated by supporters of the Club.
Created especially for our 2026 show, these impressive rosettes provided the Best of Breed winners in both Corgi breeds with a wonderful keepsake from the day.
The Welsh Cardigan Corgi Best of Breed Rosette was generously donated by Australian Cardis Calling, while the Welsh Pembroke Corgi Best of Breed Rosette was generously donated by Cremello Corgis.
We extend our sincere thanks to Australian Cardis Calling and Cremello Corgis for their generosity and for helping make our 2026 Championship Show awards that little bit extra special.
