Featuring more than two hundreds breeds, the competition attracts over three thousand entries each year, with Exhibits vying for Sydney Royal glory and ultimately the coveted Best in Show title. Celebrating excellence in breeding, Exhibitors have the chance to showcase their hard work, time and dedication to their dogs as well as enjoying and sharing in the camaraderie of the event.

In addition to the prestigious conformation show, which in 2025 includes an esteemed FCI International competition, the schedule includes Obedience, Rally, Agility, Jumping, Scent Work and Trick Dog.

For Show-goers the Sydney Royal Dog Show is 12 days of action and entertainment of the canine kind, with other popular highlights including The Festival of Dog Sports, Police Dogs Display and a novelty pet dog show.

Judge Profile: SVANTE FRISK (SWEDEN)

Svante developed a passion for dogs as a child in Sweden in the 1960’s and throughout adulthood they have remained at the centre of his life and career.

His first foray into breeding was in 1985 with the long-legged Jack Russell Terrier, later officially recognised by the FCI under the name Parson Russell Terrier. Svante’s Toutchstone Kennel became much acclaimed, and over the years also produced Fox Terriers, Lakeland, Welsh and Jack Russell Terriers. He is proud recipient of the Swedish Terrier Club’s Breeder’s Medal.

As an all-breeds international Judge, Svante has had the privilege of officiating across the world including at two World Dog Shows in Europe. He has been heavily involved in Show administration over the years and is also passionate about sharing his knowledge as a lecturer and Judge examiner.

Together with his partner, Svante runs the Kronblommas Kennel, the pair having been Sweden’s top breeders of Bernese Mountain Dogs for several years. His affinity with animals also extends to horses and Svante is a licensed equestrian Judge and dressage coach.

Judge Profile: BIANCA SAMPAIO-TEIXEIRA (BRAZIL)

Bianca Sampaio-Teixeira has a long and distinguished association with the dog world as a Basset Hound expert, owner of Pan Clan Kennel, CBKC/FCI Judge and member of the CBKC Cinotechnical Council.

Bianca is the owner of multiple title winners in her birthplace of Brazil as well as abroad, in countries including Mexico, Costa Rica, Italy, Denmark, Canada, Portugal and Spain. She achieved a Top 3 All Breeds ranking in Brazil in 2009.

Bianca’s judging career has seen her officiate at some of the most prestigious shows across the globe, including in the United States, Portugal, Russia, Lithuania, Poland and at the 2022 World Dog Show, Brazil.

A lawyer by profession, Bianca has also lectured extensively on canine breeding, conformation, and breed selection. She is honoured to be judging in Australia at the Sydney Royal Dog Show.

Judge Profile: JAE YONG KIM (REP OF KOREA)

Mr J Y Kim (Jacson Kimber) from South Korea brings with him a wealth of experience, proven professionalism and dedication as a breeder, owner, handler and all breeds Judge.

Judge Profile: RICARDO TORRE-SIMOES (BRAZIL)

Ricardo has been immersed in the dog show community for most of his life including as an FCI Judge since 1971.

Early in his career he served with several organisations including as President of the Santos Kennel Club, the Boxer Club of Brazil and today remains the Technical Director of the CBKC, Brazil Kennel Club. Ricardo is also a member of the FCI Judges Commission, FCI Show Commission and FCI Standards Commission. As a breeder Ricardo spent several decades specialising in Boxers, German Shepherds and Pugs.

After having lived for many years in both England and the United States, Ricardo now resides in his birthplace of Brazil. He has an unparalleled wealth of knowledge and has judged all over the world including in the US, Canada, Central and South America, Australia, China, in almost every European country and at several World Dog Shows.
