Triple shows, long drives, and short legs — Corgis were everywhere this weekend!
From Bungendore to Hillsborough, here’s who took home the ribbons and the bragging rights.
It was a big weekend for Corgis, with three days of triple shows across country NSW — from Bungendore to Hillsborough — where both Cardigans and Pembrokes (and their devoted handlers!) did the breed proud.
I packed the car, loaded the crates, and hit the road for the Friday shows at Bungendore and Sunday at Hillsborough, so settle in and let me tell you all about the fun, the ribbons, and the friendships along the way!
BUNGENDORE BONANZA
FAR SOUTH EAST KENNEL CLUB (AM & PM Shows) — Friday 7 November 2025
CARDIGAN ENTRANTS
Our small but mighty entrants shone a light on both breeds. In Cardigans, ‘Griffin’ (Aust Ch Bethwyn Misty Memories) looked the goods, taking out Intermediate of Breed, then following up beautifully with Runner-Up in Group! Congratulations to handler/co-owner Bronwyn Downie and co-owner Sue Handley on this lovely win. Griffin continued his good form in the afternoon show with another BoB/CC win.
New Cardigan Champion
Our other Cardigan representative, ‘Rosie’ (HarryDaisy Blue Rosette at Jeninda), was awarded Minor of Breed, Runner-Up BoB, and CC, giving her the final points for her Australian Championship at just 7 months of age. Congratulations to Rosie and me! We repeated our Runner-Up to Griffin in the PM show.
PEMBROKE ENTRANTS
Pembrokes were represented in the morning show by Ch Samiha Love Walks Into Robrych, owned and handled by Bronwyn Downie, who looked just beautiful and was awarded Australian Bred of Breed and BoB/CC. In the afternoon show, David Dawes presented the lovely ‘Bonnie’ (BIS Aust Ch Dawco Under The Moonlight (AI)), who also took out Australian Bred of Breed and BoB/CC.
LAKE GEORGE & WAMBOIN KENNEL CLUB (AM & PM Shows) — Saturday 8 November 2025
CARDIGAN ENTRANTS
Sole representative for the Cardigans was Griffin, who brought home BoB/CC, Intermediate of Breed, and Intermediate in Group in both the AM and PM shows! Well done and congratulations!
PEMBROKE ENTRANTS
In the AM show, our Pembrokes were represented by Annette Tompsett with Aileni Lone Knight in Baby Puppy Class, and ‘Bertie’ (Aust Ch Velcalle Whisky In The Jar N.SPRD), owned and handled by Amy Keenan, who was awarded BoB/CC and Intermediate of Breed.
At the PM group show, Morvena Lady Raven took Puppy of Breed, Bertie was awarded Runner-Up BoB/CC and Intermediate of Breed, and the star of the Pembrokes was Bonnie, who won BoB, Bitch CC, Australian Bred of Breed, and then went on to take Runner-Up in Group! Congratulations to David Dawes!
FAR SOUTH EAST KENNEL CLUB (Sunday 9 November 2025)
Pembrokes only on show, including two Intermediate Dogs — Elfor Kissing To Be Clever taking first over Bertie, as well as Dog CC. Morvena Lady Raven took Puppy of Breed, and Bonnie once again impressed with BoB, Bitch CC, and Australian Bred of Breed. Well done to all entrants!

Sharon Hall proudly flew the flag for the Cardigans in the morning show with ‘Cormac’ (Giandarra Eat Your Hart Out (AI)), who was awarded BoB/CC, Junior of Breed, and Junior in Group! Congratulations to Sharon!
His sister ‘Meredith’ (Giandarra Follow Your Hart (AI)) took Runner-Up BoB, Bitch CC, and Australian Bred of Breed. In the PM show, Cormac again took BoB, Dog CC, and Junior of Breed, while Meredith repeated her success with Runner-Up BoB, Bitch CC, and Australian Bred of Breed.

The Pembrokes were also out in force. Baby Puppy Bitch Velcalle Song Of The Valkyrie At Aziah (AI), owned by Club President Liana Bettison and Victoria Lee (Club Secretary & Show Secretary), looked lovely in the ring.
Liana also showed ‘Ocean’ (Ch Aziah Be What May (AI)), who was awarded BoB, Bitch CC, and Intermediate of Breed. Victoria entered ‘Callie’ (Ch Aziah Too Many Faeries) in the Neuter Class with her gorgeous six-year-old taking Neuter of Breed.
At the PM Group Show, Ocean repeated her success, taking BoB, Bitch CC, and Open of Breed, as well as being awarded Group 3rd! Congratulations to Liana. Baby Puppy Bitch was Velcalle Song Of The Valkyrie At Aziah (AI) and Neuter of Breed was Callie — congratulations, Victoria!

With no Pembrokes entered on Saturday, it was up to the Cardigans to bring home the gold! Kalora Caught In A Dream, owned by Mr R.H. & Mrs F. Holtkamp, was awarded BoB, Bitch CC, and Puppy of Breed, then went on to win Puppy in Group — what a great result!
Cormac was awarded Dog CC and Junior of Breed, with his sister Meredith taking Reserve CC, Runner-Up BoB, and Australian Bred of Breed. Congratulations also to Sharon Hall on these lovely wins.

Cormac snagged BoB, Dog CC, and Junior Dog of Breed, with Meredith taking Reserve CC and Australian Bred of Breed. Dwyfor Phoenix Rising (AI), owned by Mr R.H. & Mrs F. Holtkamp, was Puppy of Breed, while Kalora Caught In A Dream, also owned by the Holtkamps, took Bitch CC, Runner-Up BoB, and Junior Bitch of Breed.
With the car packed and the show bag loaded, I set off with the birds on Sunday morning for the run up the Pacific Freeway to Hillsborough.

CARDIGAN ENTRANTS
The standout of the AM show was Cormac, who blitzed the competition, taking Runner-Up in Group and Junior in Group! How good is that! Meredith was awarded Runner-Up BoB, Bitch CC, and Australian Bred of Breed, with Rosie tailing the field with Reserve Bitch CC and Minor of Breed. It was so exciting to be part of this win for Sharon — huge congratulations to her! With these fantastic wins, Cormac can also now be known as Ch Giandarra Eat Your Hart Out (AI) (pending Dogs NSW).
The PM show again saw Cormac awarded Dog CC, BoB, and Junior of Breed. Rosie took Reserve CC and Minor of Breed, Kalora Caught In A Dream won Junior Bitch of Breed, and Meredith earned CC Bitch and Runner-Up BoB.
Nice work, Cardigans — so lovely to see a few on show together!
PEMBROKE ENTRANTS
This was a very special day for the Aziah Team, who were thrilled to have Junior Handler Winter Bettison on board. In only her second show, Winter showed great confidence and skill, presenting the beautiful Neuter Callie to a Runner-Up Neuter in Group win in the AM Show. Massive congratulations to Winter on doing such an important job — showcasing the dog to her very best. We were all so proud of you, and from the photo of the day, it’s clear you had a wonderful time in the ring!
Other winners included Baby Puppy Bitch Velcalle Song Of The Valkyrie At Aziah (AI) and Ocean, who took BoB, Bitch CC, and Intermediate of Breed. In the PM Group Show, Velcalle Song Of The Valkyrie At Aziah (AI) again took Baby Puppy, while Ocean repeated her success with BoB, Bitch CC, and Intermediate of Breed, and Callie was once again Neuter of Breed.
This was such a lovely weekend for me personally — catching up with old and new friends north and south of Sydney, singing out of key as the kilometres flew by, swapping stories, swatting flies, and sharing Aerogard. Most of all, it was about celebrating our shared love of the breeds, the kennels, and the wonderful people who make the show scene what it is.
Showing dogs is about so much more than ribbons and results — it’s about friendship, camaraderie, and community. Thank you to everyone who stopped for a chat, shared their dog stories, and offered a bit of shade in their gazebos! And to those who witnessed my rather grace-defying tumble in Bungendore… let’s just agree that what happens at the showground stays at the showground. He he he…
