Those were Michelle’s words after witnessing a day that most breeders can only dream of.
In a remarkable celebration of breeding, versatility and dedication, two homebred half-sisters, both sired by Ch. Fergwyn I Had A Dream “Fletcher”, reached major 1,000-point milestones in two different disciplines on the very same day.
As Michelle reflected, “Could not have planned it better if we tried.”
The first celebration came in the conformation ring, where CH Fergwyn Dance The Dream N.SPRD earned the final points required for her Grand Championship title (pending Dogs NSW approval) with a Best of Breed award at the North of the Harbour Championship Shows.
Out of Fergwyn Shall We Dance, Gem was beautifully handled by Jordan Long, whose partnership has produced many memorable wins, including a Best in Group & Australian Bred In Show just one week earlier. Those recent successes helped make this incredible milestone possible.
Meanwhile, at SprintDog™, CH Fergwyn U Had Me At Hello SPRD.A earned the points needed to achieve the prestigious SprintDog™ Master, SPRD.M title (pending Dogs NSW approval).
Kenzie reached her own 1,000-point milestone doing what she loves most—chasing the lure with enthusiasm, determination and speed.
To have two homebred half-sisters, both sired by Ch. Fergwyn I Had A Dream “Fletcher”, achieve 1,000-point milestones on the same day is a truly extraordinary accomplishment.
One reached the pinnacle of success in the conformation ring, earning her Grand Championship, while the other reached the pinnacle of SprintDog™, earning her SprintDog™ Master title. Together, Gem and Kenzie are a wonderful testament to the versatility, soundness and quality of the Fergwyn breeding program.
Michelle was quick to acknowledge that achievements like these are never accomplished alone.
“Thanks to my dog show and SprintDog™ villages who have made these milestones possible—from getting Gem into the ring in recent weeks while I was off doing SprintDog™, to the people who have released my dogs at the SprintDog™ trials.”
Behind every title is a team, and Michelle’s gratitude reflects the wonderful spirit of the dog community. From Jordan Long’s skilled handling of Gem in the show ring, to the exhibitors, friends and volunteers who stepped in to help, and the SprintDog™ community who have been there to release dogs, lend a hand and cheer from the sidelines—these achievements are shared by everyone who has supported the journey.
The Welsh Corgi community is built on exactly that spirit of teamwork, friendship and support, making milestones like these even more meaningful.
